Roofing Felt

Chesterplus 3B is a traditional pour and roll membrane which is normally installed as an immediate layer over suitable venting bases and finished with suitable Chesterfelt capping sheets. It features a glass fibre core which is saturated and coated in high quality bitumen.

Chesterbond Green Mineral is a traditional pour and roll membrane which is used as the final waterproofing layer in conjunction with an underlay membrane such as Chesterbond Underlay. It features a rag fibre base which is saturated and coated in oxidised bitumen and is finished with light sand on the lower surface and mineral granules on the upper surface. 

Chestershed Mineral is a waterproof protection layer for use on portable type buildings with pitched roofs, such as sheds, stables, kennels and non-inhabited buildings. It features a glass fibre base which is saturated in bitumen and finished with light sand on the lower surface and green mineral granules on the upper surface. When installed in accordance with Chesterfelt’s instructions, Chestershed Mineral may be expected to last in excess of 5 years.

Chestershield Underslating Felt is a traditionally manufactured, hessian-backed felt for use under tiles or slates. Its fibre base is fully impregnated with a penetration grade bitumen in a saturation bath prior to being jointed with a jute hessian in the coating section. Coating bitumen is then applied, laminating the hessian to the underside of the saturated base and covering both the top and bottom surfaces. The resulting felt is lightly sanded both sides to prevent sticking.
